its gotta come out close to when 3Ds come or atleast this year, spring 2011 is PS3 VS 360 all over again, if we have learnt anything its that releasing your product close to when your competitor does is vital unless you wanna play catach up for years
im hoping sony announce the PSP2/PSPhone at E3 and it comes out a few weeks later or even september like the slim
worst case senario it comes fall 2010 but coming out in spring 2011 is just to late

It sounds like you bought a X10 and got burned, you would have been better off with a nexus one, HTC desire/incredible which cost around the same anyway hell, even the acer liquid would have been better (you can root it and load android 2.1 rom)
the good news is sony ericcson said android 2.1 will come in Q4, that would be far to long to wait for me, if you do have a X10 sell it while its still worth alot
Sony cannot afford to wait another year or 2 for a PSP2 release
with the new Iphone coming later this month as well as 3Ds coming soon they must show it otherwise it will be playing catch for its entire life cycle
i disagree, I and many others want a device that can do it all, why you want to carry multiple devices around i don't no
I maybe wrong but i believe sony can do this, they have already laid the foundation with the GO, now its possible to make a true successor without compromise
also, dont forget that sony are the only ones in a position to do this well, no other company has a handheld gaming division as well as a cell phone division

from a business standpoint i doubt he would have publicly called the GO a test if a new handheld wasn't coming very soon, otherwise he shot himself and sony in the foot for nothing
personally, this is just more conformation of a PSP2/PSPhone/PSPWHATEVA
i just hope it has android OS and two analogs

i really hope there is a PSP2 announced at E3, i just want a handheld that does it all, sony are the only ones that can do this well without outside help (gotta love being a manufacture of so many things)
i think they have to for a few reasons
1. announcing no handheld for E3 means 3D's steal the portable buzz
2. my PSPGO comment still stands
3. releasing any new product is expensive and risky and sony have done this before so this is nothing new
i dont no what you mean by "this early" the PSP is 5-6 years old and has only seen variations of the same handheld, the GO also falls into this category
4. the PSPGO has been a failure, i doubt sony will just leave it like that for over a year without showing a new handheld
anyway, if we look at whats happened there could be some truth to patchers claims
-sony showing off big games a few weeks before E3
-sony ericcson exec's saying they will work much closer with the PSP
-plus everything that has been listed above. I'm pretty hopeful

maybe if the GO was far more popular sony could release a PSP2 a year or 2 later but its been a big failure, do you really think sony would just leave the handheld like that for another year?
also, nintendo's 3Ds would steal all of the handheld buzz at E3 if sony didn't show a new portable
hopefully, the PSPhone is announced at E3 this year and i can pick this up as well as a new handheld

even with these low quality screens you can still sense the quality bump and detail

for the same price you can get an evo 4G, i no which one i would get and its not even available in the UK
no reason to let it die, just address the problems with it, more PSP games on PSN, make it much harder to pirate, another analog stick, add phone and android OS on it so it can appeal to a bigger audience, make the PSP PSN games cheaper
thats like saying the wii is whipping the 360s ass, both handhelds and consoles are aimed at different people
to be honest there is a simple equation for that
360 piracy + ps3 install base = them selling about the same, i agree with everything else you said

you no why?, because it was so awesome, arguably the best GTA ever, then the next instalment in the series was GTA4, no one had any reason to doubt 4 would be anything other then excellent, add the "perfect" reviews it got and its no wonder it sold this much
