You've got to be kidding me.
Xbox One was marketed as an always online console and that's exactly why I went with PlayStation this gen but that apparently isn't the case with games like Destiny, The Division, and now this. Looks like it's going to come down to devs and not the console. Disappointing. At least there is Wolfenstein lol.
In my opinion, if PS4 is going to stay on top in the U.S. and possibly U.K., it needs a killer F.P.S. exclusive title. Aside from the better graphics the 360 had over the PS3 with multi-plats, the 360 dominated here in the U.S. largely because of games like Halo. Killzone 2 was the only great F.P.S. I really enjoyed on PS3. Having got a PS4 this time around, I'd love to see some great exclusive shooters coming this gen. One can hope, right?
Halo 3 and 4 ports probably won't happen. Most likely he purposely leaked some false information here and there to cover his own ass. Wouldn't want a lawsuit on his hands.
Hope they keep the offline battles as well. Sure, online is fun but I really enjoyed the way Battlefront 2 was with just AI and split-screen.
Oops I meant I'm NOT doubting the potential they have to be great games.
@KwietStorm Games like, The Division, Destiny, The Crew, Plants vs Zombies, Titanfall, ect.
To this day I still go back and play original Xbox and PlayStation games. My guess is, once games like Destiny have their online support cut, it's going to be nothing but an unplayable disc. (Unless the developers have spoken about this)
That being said, (I'm doubting the potential of them being great games), it's just not for me. Personally, I don't wa...
Man, I feel like I'm the only person who is against these "always online" games. Microsoft got ridiculed for having an "always online" but now all these games on both consoles require a connection anyways. Disappointing.
My point is that ultimately it's going to come down to the devs to decide if their games are going to be always online or not. That seems to be the direction they're heading towards regardless of the console and that disappoints me.
Another example is DriveClub. They delayed the game largely to focus on "online connectivity". It's not just the MMO's I'm talking about.
