Is going to be another Hardware revision, like with PS2:
Mod 500xx = Fat
Mod 700xx = 1 Slim
Mod 900xx = 2 Slim
The HDD can't be removed and the Blu-Ray Drive take more space, by the next slim version I'm sure they'll focus on shrink the BR-Drive and the internal power brick by reducing the power consumption
