On the PS3 version of the device, the connected mouse's DPI DOES affect the speed of the aiming. Not sure if it will for the 360 version.

Gaming laptops are great if you're a minimalist (ie. don't want a huge case or monitor). Their major downside is the battery life when you actually game with them.
When I had my 1730M, I had removed the battery and simply kept it always plugged in.
My only problem with shutting down online features is that you can't plat the game anymore if you're late to the party.
