Wasn't that lighting and physics demo over a year old from 2007? I would imagine that they have managed to get it to look like that on the 360 by now. I seriously doubt that Gears of War 2 maxed out the 360. I also doubt that kill zone 2 is the best the PS3 will show. With that said does it really matter. Game play is most important. If Alan Wake cant deliver that then all its millions of pixels are for waste. The same goes for Killzone. Until these games are out we cant say for sure.
The city is New Mombasa, the drop ships are UNSC marine drop ships but the camera says it cant identify them. They are most likely from a flood controlled UNSC ship and part of the city is glassed by a covenant ship in orbit as they land. Its been evacuated because the covenant typically glassed major cities first, but the flood are most likely dropping down to spred the infection. The last ship is the chief I think but I don't think we get to play him.
Actually xna 3.0 CTP is still in beta stage so no games have been officially released and the software does not have a games menu. As far as it being hard to install people have streamlined it using RIG, a program that installs the game without C+ visual studio. This fall we will most likely see the integration of games into the software. Well I have to disagree with you across the board. I feel that Sony; having been to the top of the mountain has become complacent with their product. While Microsoft is in it for the money and expanded market share they are still improving the industry through competition.
