RE3 had the worst story and characters out of all the RE games imo, good call on that
agreed, the combat mechanics of the original game is pretty dated but the story, pacing, level design and puzzles are still better than most games.
the first one coulda used more bosses but i prefer a game making me want more and beckoning replays compared to the 2018 approach.
they were great supporting roles but the main cast and the overall story didnt captivate me like the original games.
i liked the old Kratos, the gameplay in the new game was good but with all the recycled bosses, weak puzzles, exploration and characters... i didnt think it was better than the first two.
still overall a great game
very low expectations...

ps4 launched with no games for a year and was a wild success, Sony just knows what they are doing.

im still playing it, im not hooked yet 6 hours in... tho its partially my fault because i watched the trailers and most of whats happened so far was covered in the trailers.
it is a pretty slow start, i dont think the defenders can deny that. slower than say even Red Dead 1 imo
hopefully Respawn can deliver again despite EAs best efforts

RE3 was more action oriented than RE2 so thats consistent.
not being bogged down by tank controls and static camera angles should let the remake be significantly better
I hope they keep all the cool movement options offered by RE6, that game had a terrible story and pacing but the combat engine was very good
