Marketing stunt. Over on xboxera there's people saying they've canceled their gamepass. Some say they are selling their Xbox. If it is a marketing stunt it's very ass backwards.
They released most of their games on switch and ps, couple ps games weren't on switch, couple were only on switch. Idda bought the side dq games but not for switch. The only reason square is even talking about releasing some games again on xbox is someone from ms flew over to drop a bag off. To fix the relationship ms soured with sqaure(from windowscentral.com)

Obscure, ff16 wouldn't have moved the needle much on xbox unless ms threw square money for gamepass. If the last few days have told us anything. It's gamepass is not good(day one stuff)

Physical games aren't being killed though sonybwas the first to allow small publishers to make print runs as low as 1k. Nintendo followed suit after switch released. Something showed Sony sales go 60 percent digital and 40 percent physical. Say whatbyou want but this day and age where alot of games are digital only and have a pre built advantage as far as digital vs physical.

Pc and Xbox gamepass were different though. On pc gamepass I can download fallout 3 and new vegas goty editions where as on my series x I only can get the vanilla fallout 3 and new vegas. I was pretty bummed about that one. I never did get to finish all the new vegas dlc.
