It's like mid-summer & no beta yet. Perhaps that's pushed til Winter 2010? Those Codemaster devs who slapped together Operation Flashpoint must've got jobs @Ubisoft to work on GR.
I can stream ANY PLAYABLE MEDIA via Windows Media Player, Zune or Windows Media Center, to my 360.
No software d/ls (outside of Zune) & no codec d/ls, etc.
All my Zune/Windows Media Player playlists work, no edits, etc needed.
I can stream just as easily from my iPod Video or my Zune 120 & Zune HD, just as easily!!! No d/ls required!
AND the new 360 S allows for streaming via WIFI. Streaming ANY MEDIA VIA A w...
on a PS3 when u can play on the PC for FREE too?? Makes no sense.

And in regards to those features that I've mentioned; "Who Cares?" APPARENTLY Sony cares and a slew of PSN users, which is why Sony is trying to mimic everything that MS does with XBL.

But all I know is that it wasn't really cool to have a console in my college days (Sega/Nintendo), until Playstation came out!
PSX brought CD quality sound & cgi video cutscenes, which gave games a more movie-like experiance. The <blip-blip>, <beep-beep>, Pac-Man days were finally over and for once games REALLY were 'Arcade Quality'!
In the next few months cause I didn't see any 'must have' titles @ E3!
The orig xbox had all games 480p and there were a few (Deus Ex: Invisible Wars among them) that were 720p.
I mean...as the Sony Jock-Riders would say; "Why should you pay for something that you already have?" I already have a house phone - why should I pay for a cell phone? I already pay for internet - why should the cell phone provider charge me to have it on my phone?
Only a consumer (or more specifically-a Sony Jock-Rider) would ask a dumb question about making xbl free! Why would any company making millions in revenue, suddenly offer their services for free??

IDK??? An ol gamer like me sees it and it looks like an updated KRULL game. That game sucked worse than the flop movie so...can't see buying it.
Bubbles to ya as well! My take; Casual gamers are ALSO (in accordance with your definition) those who play MAINSTREAM games (like Halo, etc).
They want to play the 'latest' & 'greatest' thing. This is why games like CoD 4/MW2 will sell soo many copies and games like Operation Flashpoint:DR will get severly overlooked. Heck most people will prefer CoD4/MW2 over any Ghost Recon game now!
Casual Games = ANYTHING that's easy to PICK...
The PS3/PSN has received 20fold the amt of firmware updates that the orig xbox & 360 had, COMBINED!...yet the they still don't have x-game chat or even something REALLY simple - a MUTE player feature.
How many updates will it take Sony? Perhaps Firmware update 5.0 will do it in 2012??

6 years later the competioin isn't even close to getting anything similar...even with their 'premium' service.
u probably played with foreigners who were probably on a dorm in a local college or one within your region. OR u or they created a PSN acct based in the corresponding region.

I love having my physical media of 400+ DVDs/BluRays & 1500+ CDs cluttering my living room!
Who would want to stream all that stuff or put it on a media player - is beyond me!
