so how is it that MGS consistently scored well among critics and sold a ton? And funny I actually liked Double Agent, I guess I was a su(ker for multiple choices(even though there is only two endings). Stop the useless comparison. Its like comparing SWAT to FEAR.
cut the cr*p already, Splinter Cell and MGS are very different. They are in the stealth genre and the similarities end there.

I loved blowing enemies to bits, I wonder what Jack Thompson has to say. Something about the game feels unnatural, and the level design feels unpolished and rough. Makes sense as its only about 500 mb. I think its totally worth a rental.

agreed that is the same rational I used to get mine in July and without Motorstorm, Sony can easily afford price cut on 80GB PS3
as for current 80GB deal, Motorstorm is a very good game so if anybody plans on to store some media on PS3, you will still have plenty left for games. Overall its a good deal and PS3 is reported to have better backward compatibility than 360
I am glad I didn't buy my PS3 for unproven stuff like Lair(please don't say Mass Effect is unproven, it may not be KOTOR but follows it very closely), I bought it for MGS4 along the way I enjoyed a few games, have begun to love the Ratchet & Clank series and also Uncharted and Killzone 2 look promising(in hands of good devs)
I downloaded and played thru the demo, I think its fun, the graphics is looking good but lacks polish, feels like FEAR
I think the devs were lazy about making this game on PS3, they had no deals or anything. They even alluded to the possibility that there may be a future PS3 version a few months back
