With such complex storylines and use of a wider variety of camera angles, I definitely think video games can be analyzed in a similar way!
That's one thing they mentioned in this panel too - gaming companies becoming more involved in big business models. It's definitely happening more and more.

Some differences obviously exist, but I think there's definitely overlap between the two (real women and video game women). I think that's the nature of a lot of games though, even with male characters. They're often more "fantastical" in both cases. It just depends on which attributes you decide to exaggerate.
