I doubt it. Truth be told, Metroid simply isn't as popular as stuff like Mario and Zelda. It's understandable why it doesn't have the same priority, but there are shades of difference between rolling out a new Metroid game every couple of years to keep it kicking and just straight up ignoring it for 6 years. They couldn't even time Federation Force to release on the anniversary.
