I say stick to 1080 as a standard. I'd rather better games doing new things at 1080p than iterative games that don't take risks in 4K.
It's play anywhere that has me excited for this. If I feel like having a graphical showcase and enjoying the scenery while burning rubber at 60fps I can on my PC. If I want to just chill out and play Aldine Forza on my TV to some music I can. Win/win.

Nintendo have already confirmed NX for early 2017. Shaping up to be one hellatious year though. NX in March, Neo in the Summer and Scorpio in the holidays if Pahter is at least right about Neo.
The current game at 1080/60 rather than 720/30 would be fine. Being cel shaded there's very little I have to complain about graphically.
While it's good that Sony give their devs time, they should really stop jumping the gun on announcements. This game could be completely different by launch. And it's massively unlikely something as ambitious as this and "early in development" could launch in 2017.
Perfect example of why Sony's E3 wasn't as good as everyone thought. Hardly any of the games they showed are imminent. The only one that i remember having a release date revealed was TLG but that was first shown in 2009 ffs.
I wouldn't be surprised if both systems received boosts between now and launch. However the clock is ticking on Sony who want Neo out this year.
Sony upping the PS4's RAM is A LOT easier than changing the GPU which is what they'd need to do to close the gap. It's up to them. They match or beat Scorpio but delay Neo past PSVR's launch and have to face the same pricing dilemma as MS or they launch as is alongside PSVR and have a year long head start over Scorpio.
Yes it does. IF the power difference is as big as we're currently assuming. The PS4 is about 1.7 Tflops to the XB1's 1.3. Multiplatform games run better on the PS4 in regards to resolutions and frame rates (when devs take advantage of whats there) and PS4 exclusives can surpass anything the Xbox One is capable of. Everything we know about the NX for certain can be deduced from The Legend Of Zelda, since it's the only confirmed game for it. Since BotW doesn't make any use of the gamepad i think it's safe to assume that concept is done. However it will certainly have some sort of motion/gyroscope integration as it's in Zelda. Ocarina or Wind Waker for me. I played through Zelda 1 again a couple of weeks ago. It hasn't aged especially well, and as a 2D Zelda it doesn't hold a blue candle to ALTTP.

I agree. Looking up and down from the gamepad always disorients me and i have to refocus my eyes on each one EVERY TIME. The best thing about the gamepad is off screen play. I like to watch Netflix and play some Zelda or Mario Maker at the same time. Very relaxing.
