The ps3 doesn't do everything because
A. the first models played ps2 games, the slim which is the "it only does everything model" does not.
B. the first models did linux emulation. The new slim does not, again its the "it only does everything model"
C. No extra memory slots.
D. No ps2 memory slots.
E. No SACD playback.
F. All other models are now out of production.
So in truth NO it does not do everything..i...
Here's the difference. They all came with new upgrades body kits etc.
While in GT series. same parts, same companys no body kits. no damage, no nothing. 100% identical.

Actually sony followed Nintendo and Sega after they saw how well they recovered the gaming industry. when MS came out they redefined online gaming. And don't bring up the dreamcast online, if it was anything as good as Xbox live was we would have seen a new sega console.

This is no different then any sequel. It added new gameplay elements, New Maps, New weapons, New characters, New mode, Updated graphics, Better AI, More creatures.
