To be fair I can't think of another game series thats had two console outings already with a third in the pipeline. So i do hope they don't rush it.

Kinda, I'm more hoping they'll do something even better after, though I can't see the 3rd gears of war game really being the complete end.
I wouldn't have thought it really mattered too much, I know when I was younger i used to attempt to break games as often as possible just to make them more interesting, back then though there were always hundreds of random silly things you could do. Not so much anymore and the stuff thats around is usually exploitive instead and mostly online.
The previous games were pretty damn good anyway.

This maybe the case for a few people, but Nintendo knows the formula still works, after all it still sells. Why change what works? That's not me saying that I endorse it but while 100's of thousands still buy it it's unlikely to get improved much.

Yeah i must admit it is a bit sad.
I did manage to avoid learning much about ffxiii till its release so a lot of it was in fact unknown to me, although i was aware of the characters names and some of the more common known information. I always found it odd that the initial trailers were right at the end of the game.
