Good, i am all for making the characters look slightly different, but this is just a step too far.
They slightly changed the character designs when Sonic Adventure was released. I wouldn't mind if they did the same again but not this much.
You all say you are excited about a new Sonic game and then when it is actually released you are back hating it again. The same will happen with Sonic Boom, you will be all positive at first and then you will be back to bashing it again.
There has never been anything really wrong with newer Sonic games, it's just that so many people are stuck in the past and get all caught up in nostalgia. If these newer Sonic games weren't actually called Sonic then these games would...
It's like the characters have aged a few years, if that is the case then i think their character designs are a good idea. I'm not exactly sure on the actual choice of the designs though. Knuckles is huge, i think they should have made him only slightly bigger, he just doesn't look like Knuckles.
Personally i don't think they will keep the character designs like this, this is just to tie in with the new show.

Wow i don't know what to make of it, i guess i am cautiously optimistic. I don't think the new character designs will be like this from this point on, it just think it's just to tie in with the new animated series coming up.
The game looks decent though. Sort of reminds me of Sonic Heroes and i was a massive fan of that game.
Maybe this is why i didn't enjoy last gen over previous generations. None of that stuff appealed to me. Yeah i enjoyed GTA 4 but the rest never got me interested in the slightest.
Although i would like to see another RPG Sonic game i cannot agree that Sonic games are now bad. It has become popular to hate Sonic these days. If these new Sonic games weren't actually called Sonic then these newer Sonic titles would be loved by the majority of gamers. People are letting nostalgia get in the way when it comes to every new Sonic games these days.

The one he didn't mention though is when servers close on consoles, what the hell will become of the games ?
When Microsoft eventually close the 360 servers down, which they will do in the next few years, how will we get hold of the Arcade games and the updates / patches for games with big glitches in them ? They will cease to exist.

An all digital world would be terrible for gaming.
Just think, if Xbox One was all digital, what happens to the games when they decide to turn off their servers ? You gotta hope that your hard drive with your games on lasts forever because you will never ever be able to get those games again. Just imagine spending all that money and then never being able to play the game again.

I agree with all of those reasons and that is why i would pick Japanese games over anything else. They just keep me interested, they have a better imagination than the rest of the world, they always have.
The negatives outweigh the positives massively. If they ever force this on us then it will be terrible for gaming. I don't see why physical and digital can't exist together.
Sonic has been rebooted plenty of times, every time they do everyone complains. SEGA can't win when it comes to Sonic.
