Doomed may be a little harsh, after all 3D is the ultimate zombie display method.
It has come back to haunt us several times after we all assumed we'd be safe from this little gimmick, but alas no. I suppose we'll all eventually have 3D displays, but for now there just isn't enough support.

With any other game, evolution seems to be a part of the process but people don't seem to want to accept this with pokémon.
Like many people I started early with pokémon i.e. pokémon red/blue and we have to face facts that our nostalgia is not the only thing we should think about when playing a new pokémon game.
A fresh start to the series, essentially erasing all previous pokémon, may be what the series needs to add a little zing...

Unfortunately the fact that you will only be able to access it when buying the game from certain retail most definitely is not.
