For me it's not really the resolution, it's knowing that a $500 system has a gimped graphics card and strange ram setup. And a $400 console is well built with a better gpu and ram. If the X1 was $350 to $300 dollars it would make sense to me to buy a less powerful machine, but for it to cost more is ridiculous.
I am not saying people that bought it made a bad choice, they prefer the games possibly, they want the camera and other features. But from a pure hardware per...
Why can't devs patch 1080p into games like Metal gear and thief?
The Playstation brand is very profitable and much more popular than the competing Xbox brand, the only reason Sony would feel any need at all to do this is because the game wasn't looking good...
I really doubt any of their restructuring would affect Playstation.
They are keeping the properties from the game to possibly use for something else, but the game itself is dead. After so long they just weren't feeling the game was going well, so they disbanded that 50 person team unfortunately, according to one of the devs at SSM. Maybe after they plan and come up with something new that they like they will hire back some of those devs they let go, but who knows.
Over 100,000 polygons for main characters and it really shows. The game looks technically superior to any I have seen so far, just brilliant.
The Order looks absolutely fantastic, I drool every time I see it. I don't think any game ever should be judged on a 2 minute clip with short moments of gameplay. Still it looks like an absolute joy to play and I can't wait.
Titanfall isn't innovative, it just combines many things from other games and puts them in one. If that is innovative then tons of games are, I would like to think it takes more than that to innovate.
@Skips
Well said.
PS4's list looks tons better, play the games not the resol.... wait lets do both.
@DroneAgent
NES for life my friend, Nintendo made some of my favorite systems.
The graphics so far are tops artistically and technically no doubt with <100,000 polygons for main characters and 4MLAA.
I just hope we see more gameplay footage, because so far it looks really fun, just need to see more to be sure.
Holy shiz, I didn't think of that.
When I bought my PS3, a couple of days after the price got cut by $100... That was unfair.

Sounds like bad news directed at Sony gets you all excited... Who is saying 50 people getting laid off is a good thing? It happens to many big dev companies but good hell man you have a sick mind if you think anyone could think this is a good thing.
This really bums me out to hear, I hope for the best for these guys. I wish they could have all stayed at SSM.
Then why would you need the cloud for that? That's what I don't understand, if the AI is so simple and all and the game isn't graphically demanding... The game looks fun to me for sure, but all this going on about the magical servers and cloud is ridiculous.
The game runs at the same res and fps on the ps3/360 as next gen consoles do... We have seen parity in multiplats before, but not very often.
I feel that resolution and fps do matter and I'm glad that both next gen systems can run this at the same resolution/fps. But I think we are seeing now that the "play the games, not the resolution" bit was bull crap all along. I hope for continued parity in the future now that we know how everyone really feels.

Resolution matters now for this game, but it wont matter for the next game, but the game after it, it may matter again...

It is a ridiculous spin on his part, seeing as how you can get any of those games on other platforms, just not all three combined...
And the PS4 is where you will find the hottest games in the best resolution and fps on consoles.
I would think people would understand that Sony Santa Monica is a huge company with four or five teams moving into an even bigger building in LA and Sony's game division is wildly successful. which would mean the restructuring is due to just not needing so many devs for some of their purposes.
Well, Sony is selling so well and they have such great studios and games, I don't see them needing to do anything. The PS4 is a great gaming machine for the price and a great entertainment center as well. I think they should just keep on trying to get more stock to large markets so they can sell even more.

The one with the better resolution would be the obvious choice, there are three platforms to buy the game on. PC it is.
