1. M$ did not keep FULL backwards compatibility, only certain games
2. There are still 60GB ps3 backwards compatable systems out there (I have one)
3.The RROD was a hell of a lot more common than YLOD, m$ had no choice but to offer repairs for free or they would get sued/have to do a console recall
4. YLOD ps3's do not wipe hard drives,(well not the 4 i have repaired for friends)

I flip my ps3 from horizontal to vertical while playing blurays and films all the time, its the only way my surround sound optical cable will reach and i dont get any scratching or grinding sounds

Both games look amazing so far, i dont think killzone 3 actually needs a graphical upgrade (is that even possible) because killzone 2 is still one of the best looking fps's out there
