The market for fighting games is shrinking for the same reason RTS games shrank dramatically, they aren't accessible online because most people will mop the floor with anyone new to the game and there just isn't enough to do offline. Most games are getting bigger and bigger; Open world, side quests, mini games, dlc story content, etc but Fighting games are exactly as big as they've ever been - not much to do IMO. The genre won't die, but it will take its place next to RTS game...

Y'all are bananas if you don't think the price of the PS3 was an obstacle for a large swath of people. Sure, it might have outpaced the Xbox 360 but remember that it was the successor to the most successful console to date and lost a lot of ground that the previous two consoles built.

155 million for the Playstation 2
24 million for the Xbox

Compared to very roughly ~80 million each in the Playstation 3, 360 era. Sure, the price might not...

Oh man, I love everyone's amnesia on this thread. This has been tried and tried and it will never be the lead content delivery solution; or at least not in the next few decades. People seem very sure that all of the world's internet infrastructure problems will suddenly be solved in the next decade. I'm sorry to tell you but the cable industry is terrible and things are not going to get better any time soon, least of all latency. This service will be a niche like everything before...

Great thanks MysticStrummer! 2500 days later this comment gives me a good chuckle. I used the wrong genre acronym, correct, but I stand by everything I said and I doubt this game stands the test of time, even for anyone that kept pushing through the game's most excruciating pain points. It wasn't bad... It was just riddled with obvious problems.

I actually rented it, but looking back 2800 days later and reading the review and comments is quite entertaining. I think Haze will be remembered as an average shooter that didn't tell a good story or innovate or captivate, but it was an interesting time to be a Playstation owner and I remember being truly blown away by this game in the brief time I played it. The Playstation 3 library was sparse for quite a while in those early years and I think, like many other owners, we held on to th...

So there are three business units: Financial Services, Electronics, and Entertainment. Under Electronics there are 5 separate divisions. Under one division headed up by Kaz himself, lived Sony Network Entertainment, Home Entertainment & Sounds, and Sony Computer Entertainment.

Sony is quite a beast..

Can somebody please draw me an org chart? I feel like Sony is always changing names and launching new business units..

Slant 6 is a handheld game company. So expect that quality on a console. On the upside, Confrontation had some great character customization, so maybe this will too.

Good Review. The author is straightforward about the strengths and flaws of the game, instead of tiptoeing around the subject like most others. Not a comic buff but sounds worth a try.

Are you quoting Valve? I think both companies can be close-minded at times. But what it comes down to is a game that sells fairly well and has limitless microtransaction possibilities.

It does not matter if you are Sony or Microsoft, either company percieves this as profit. If it was a 3rd party developer I'd expect M$ would have lobbied hard or was currently lobbying for this game to come to their platform.

^ Yes, exactly.

@BigPappy: bubbles for sound logic.

I would argue that, in the past, Sony has done a better job supporting indie developers and bringing them on-board; however, the indie channel for M$ was quite progressive and I'm sure the playing field is much more level than it appears.
