'Ton' of money makes Valve too greedy to release DLC.
Way to go USA, destroy the planet to stop some asian kid from readin your mailz and stealin your lolz. Pathetic.
... metal is rare in AMERICAN games.
... is far too large a market to ignore and the venerable console needs some ammo to fight the Wii(let's face it, it's a Gamecube).
I guess all the PC/360 owners will go back to claiming how far superior Grid is now.
PS. I love the Gamecube ;)
I was wrong, it won't go anywhere but Playstation platforms.
Sorry for you, keyboard jockeys.
... probably means "Anywhere but Microsoft". So I'd say a Linux PC or even Mac versions are possible. On the other hand it could also mean "As many /Sony/ platforms as possible. Ponderous.
... with a childish comment and say: "More than games but less than PSP." is not a very good marketing slogan. Where I live PSP games are less than half the price of DS games, and the console is only 25% more expensive, so you make up the difference on the first game you buy.
It's such a strong word.
I think it's more like "surprise-sex-lay".
...Sony never promised you a rose garden.
Also MS own the patent on cross game voice chat. I don't think we'll ever see that on PS3.
RTFM.
if I look at how often this reviewer complains about the hardware and how little he says about the game, it's pretty clear: he's another fanboy who wouldn't know an unbiased review if it shat on his head.
Teh PS3 lol suxes on all good gamors move to xbxo coz dat is got haloz!!!1 heh!! Wen Sony gunna give up huh??/
Seriously though, even if the PS3 was nothing but a cheap Blu-ray player and media hub, it wouldn't need saving. The great thing about this generation is that there's a console for everyone. Wii for the casual gamers, 360 for 'Teh eL33t hal0z' and PS3 for everyone else.
I suppose a "PS3 Arcade" that only plays PSN titles would be feasible and pretty cheap.
...it's n4g.com
Fine, I'll do the research for you.
Both the GoldSrc and Source engines are modified versions of the Quake engine from 1996. Easy enough to recompile for xbox, but probably a bit harder to re-write for 6 SPEs.
So my message to Valve: Write an engine for current gen hardware, I dare you.
They created some of the best mods for Quake 1, but they certainly can't be called "developers". If you check the wiki page for the Source engine you'll see that it's basically a souped up Quake engine. That also explains why it wont run on PS3, or indeed any non-PC architecture.
Hire some real programmers, Valve.
It's made in Europe and draws more from the second world war than the "war on terror" that Halo is based on.
How could a game developed by a Dutch company for a Japanese console stand up to a US Army backed propaganda device running on the true blue american dream machine?
Cheers to Rockstar. The sooner the world realizes that our beloved hobby goes beyond children's entertainment, the better.
Sure there will be outrage when parents notice that their precious snowflakes are downloading smut with their "tv-games", but it's an issue that needs to be resolved, not avoided.
I played the game, and yes it's a fun multiplayer game, but I don't see how it couldn't have been a HL2 mod. The engine hasn't improved much at all. In fact FakeFactory's Cinematic Mod for HL2 looks BETTER than their own "latest version" of Source. Time to let go of that Quake1 source code.
I still don't understand why people would buy this when the PSP can and has run /real/ GTA games.
