They're both doing equally as poor in my opinion.
Art style is just as important as graphics these days. Nintendo just needs to avoid making hyper realistic games, and instead focus on cell-shading or other unique graphical styles. Their games will look just fine.
Played the demo and was largely unimpressed.
Graphics will always continue to evolve, but they have definitely reached a point where art style and the creativity of the developer can make all the difference. Ni No Kuni and Xenoblade taught me that. The Wii U won't be able to handle crazy photo-realistic games, but it will be more than capable of pulling off cartoony cell-shaded graphics just fine. So if Nintendo really wants to showcase the true power of the Wii U, they'll have to show off some good JRPGs.
Nintendo really knows what they're doing with the 3DS. So many great games, and from the looks of it, more on the way. I really need to pick one up this year.
Oh please...you're just being childish and bitter.
Isn't it good for the industry when a company deviates from the norm, experiments, and tries new means of communicating with the audience.
From my perspective, Nintendo is forming their own equations; they're trend-setters not followers.
It's FUNNY how this site is always bashing Nintendo, saying things like how you want Sony to absolutely destroy them. Yet, it seems like a lot of you are expressing disappointment and concern that Nintendo is opting out of E3 this year. I would have thought the bulk of you would be happy that they're not making an appearance at this year's E3. Does this mean you secretly like Nintendo??? O_O
Can't say I'm not disappointed, but I suppose it's just as well, Nintendo will just be overshadowed by the announcements of 2 new consoles. They've always done things differently than both Sony and Microsoft, and clearly they are more interested in using Nintendo Direct as a means to showcase all their announcements for new games. At least this way, they won't be completely overshadowed.
Other than maybe persona 4 golden, I highly doubt that.
Vita definitely has a lot of potential. If we're talking about tech specs and hardware quality, then vita is probably the best portable system we've seen thus far.
But the 3DS has really picked up some tremendous momentum. The sheer amount of quality games coming out on the 3DS in this year alone is absolutely incredible. Nintendo really knows what they're doing when it comes to the portable gaming market.
I don't even have a 3DS yet and if we...
Yay! I can't wait for both games. Hopefully this is a sign of more jrpgs to come for the Wii U.
Battery life is really important to me and even though the XL's battery life has improved from the original 3DS, it still isn't that great especially for long play sessions.
What caused the enormous boost in 3DS LL sales from last week? Nintendo's doing a great job with the 3DS!
Well, I am very excited for Project X-Zone and Bravely default, both of which are new IPs. I only have a vita right now, so I am extremely envious of 3DS owners. The amount of software you guys are getting is just incredible!
For goodness sakes, why do people always forget about the Japanese developers. The gaming industry is not ruled by just western developers. I foresee tons of Japanese support on the Wii U.
Majiebeast is just bitter because the Vita is in exactly the same position as the Wii U.
Just like the vita is done for right?
As a BIG Nintendo fan, the Wii U is not very impressive hardware-wise. Gotta be honest. I wish it was a bit more powerful...
Software-wise, it has a lot of potential. I say this as a big RPG gamer and the Wii U already has a couple of JRPGs under development and that has me excited. Just got to be patient. Nintendo's been hinting at some collaborations with other developers too, so I am quite optimistic.
People might be surpised to see the PS4 not sell so well and it's not because the PS4 isn't any good or whatever, it's because the PS3 will be it's toughest competition. Sony will essentially be competiting with itself. The PS3 has just picked up some incredible momentum these past few years and its already a very capable graphical powerhouse in my opinion. Sony has already announced they have no intention of phasing out the PS3. So people may be complacent with the PS3 and no...
It can only help, but I think Mario Kart and Supersmash Bros. will have a much more significant impact.
