I could be wrong but I think the author's title might be in jest. Apologies if I've misread, I've never really been able to parse comedic hyperbole or even sarcasm for that matter. I may consider reading the article before forming an opinion. I'll report back with my findings, Snookies.

Got to say, I was pretty impressed when they first showed the (albeit heavily choreographed) Minecraft demo. But everything since has just been a bit meh.
I actually enjoyed the open world of MGSV. A lot of room for creativity. But definitely agree it came at a cost. They sacrificed Metal Gear's whacky story in favour of what people have come to expect from AAA games.
I blame the people who constantly whined about the long cutscenes in Guns of the Patriots. I LOVED that about the series.
I think this appeals to both audiences. There's enough to explore if you want to waste some time bashing about, but you can easily tear through it if you're only it for the story.
Sounds like you're on the money. The dialogue in the gameplay we've seen isn't "friendly". It's some idle chit-chat with barbs. I think it's a great dynamic. Kind of in the same way we never really sure if Sam Drake was an ally or enemy in UC4.
And definitely agree that Cutter has been under utilised. Let's hope McTavish found a moment in his busy schedule to make a cameo.

Yeah agreed. Nadine makes sense post-Uncharted 4 but Cutter will definitely be missed. I wonder if he'll make a cameo. I wonder if Grahame McTavish even has the time with Preacher/Outlander/Castlevania .

Wow. Yeah, the hetero couple is full-banging and the gay couple it's just kind of implied. I've been noticing this a lot in movies lately. Movies and TV shows that have no modesty when showing a straight couple boning, but when it come to a gay couple you've just got to use your imagination.
