VITA version might be cheaper then. For example initial price of MGS HD Collection (VITA) was only 20 GBP compared to 40 GBP for console release
I disagree about Minecraft being more likely on a 3DS. Minecraft is more profitable than a GTA game, Notch now has more money than he has ever dreamt about. In my opinion he will try to launch it on as many platforms as possible.
Also Notch said he is considering Minecraft on PlayStation, so Sony will most likely push him to release it on both PS3 (or even PS4) and PS VITA with cross-functions.

Just like PC is the future of gaming. Those phones cost like twice more than PS VITA and three times more than 3DS, and you need to change them like every two years to keep up.
But the most important thing is, these controllers will never be popular. Only the hardcore gamers would buy such thing. And, you know, pretty much every hardcore gamer would better buy 3DS or PS VITA, especially when it's cheaper too.
