for all the arguments about servers being shut down in the future and people losing access to their games i have a question. why would someone want to play a 10 yr old game anyway? i mean, i tried playing a few ps1 games not long ago and i noticed how cheesy they were.
i finish a game and I'm done. played the last of us, and even though it was the best game i had ever played i couldn't see myself playing it again.
just because someone doesn't want to switch cd's all the time doesn't make one lazy.
it's just convenience.
i showed my son a music cd and he laughed at me. same will happen in the future with games. kids laughing about them.
digital is the future, whether we like it or not.
agreed. i hate changing disc all the time. want a game, just buy it from the comforts of your home. any money you might get for a used game $10 - $20 is used up in gas or bus fare to go and sell it anyway.
she is talking about buying a game, not streaming.
"People may think that they’re buying games, but with a digital future, we’re often lending or buying temporary access to titles. Companies still hold all the power over them. When they lose their power or access, we lose ours."
umm? no! when you buy a digital game you don't lose access to it when they pull it from the store. People can't purchase the game, but people that already own it never lose access. unless perhaps it's an online game only title....
wealthy employees. making art can be hard, but the rewards, both financial and artistic, is what they work so hard for.
sony waits most times for devs to get new ip's right. MS, not so much.
In the end this just sucks for gaming in general.
devs put so much time into these games.
I hope he will be ok. sony, are you listening? hire these guys to make a similar game for the playstation. this was the only game i was really looking forward to seeing/playing from Xbox. really sucks.
I am a playstation gamer and i am really sad that this game has been cancelled. sucks.
the work this dev team put into this game looked great. Hope they can rebound from this. Sony, hire these guys to make a similar game for the playstation.
really sucks.
simple minded? you use the term "SJW" when there is no facts to back up that anyone complained about this? you think i am simple minded? ummm? ok?
it just means that they, MS, tried to rain on sony's, pro, reveal by announcing the Scorpio last minute. MS has been one step behind sony this whole generation and they seem to want the scorpio, which won't be released till the end of the year, to be in every article.
it was a pathetic move on their part and i hope sony lowers the pro to $299 with an exclusive like Spiderman, plus the announcement of the ps5 right before the launch of the scorpio. it would be nice f...
counting down while sony sells consoles. nice!
still trying to find this so called "uproar" about this. can you send me a link to the hundreds of people crying about it please, or are we just falling for the false claim that there is an actual uproar?
lord knows not having a cheek shown in a game kills all fun for that game right?
you do know there isn't any uproar over this right? it's called herding the sheep, which is what they are doing. we're talking about it and it's free media.
problem is, i can't seem to find this so call "uproar" anywhere. false uproar is free media for the devs i guess. plus they have the sheep, you people, to help with the false narrative. congrats!
funny that i can't find a huge uproar anywhere. i think these guys are looking for free media coverage by creating a false so called uproar. pathetic really.
agreed, the first two had better driving mechanics.
wonder if they will have a multiplayer mod for consoles
Twisted Metal please.
yes i know, but streaming has nothing to do with her article. she is talking about digitally owning/downloading a game. when you download a game it's on your HDD and doesn't stutter when playing it.
sputtering only happens when you have to be online, not when the game is an offline digital game. even discs sputter when using online.
perhaps you are saying in the wrong way.
