I think this is just a EBGames/Gamestop deal.
I'm contemplating selling my old phat PS3 for $120-150 and then adding some $ to buy this, it is a steal.
When I see deals like this and then remember that I paid 4 times as much at launch (no games included), I cry a little.
man PS2 slim was so awesome.... That feeling when you pull the plastic off the gloss strip on the front for the first time..... Damn.
I have a 5 year old PS3 and when the light shines on it, the damn scratches just light up. I know that feels....

Anyone else hoping the console will have a matte finish and not be glossy? As nice as glossy looks, it's a pain in the A**....
It's not about reducing the ram, they can still get 8 gigs of ram in there but at a far cheaper with DDR3. By saying its DDR5 they've made the PS4 a serious gaming machine.
Im still in shock they even announced 8 GIG GDDR5 ram. Not enough is being said about how awesome this truly is.

I don't know why people keep saying it would be too soon. Why do you see trailers for movies that are meant to come out late in the year at the Super Bowl? Oh yea its called creating "Hype", something that can be achieved through an event like the Superbowl.
Stop acting like they can't afford it. If they can spend hundreds of millions making a console, they can easily cough up a million or two for a commercial.
They spent that much for the God of War Ascension TV spot. I don't see why not.
I can just imagine an extremely well done superbowl ad for the PS4 having to do with the tagline "The big game" or "game day".
Man they could have dealt some serious blows by unveiling it there.
This is fairly old news, I remember watching an interview with him back in 2008 after his amazing performance in Beijjing, he was talking to an Activision executive and then close to the end of the interview, the interviewer was like, we know you're a big COD fan so here's a free copy of World at War 2 months before it hits store shelves....
