They were, but at this point, not so much.

All the people who made PlayStation awesome have left, and just like every other business, it's been reduced to maximizing profits. It's the same with Nintendo all the people who formed it and cared about the business are gone. Now it's just businessmen looking to maximize profits.

But to be fair, this direction, at least in gaming, was started by Microsoft. They have always been about money, from DL...

I'm not saying the console is or isn't delayed, but people are taking broad statements and just running with what they want to hear or what gets the most clicks which is always "Sony is doomed".

PlayStation 4 is still being supported by Sony, and will probably still be supported when PS6 releases. Even if PS6 released at the end of this year PS5 would still only be halfway through its life cycle.

The Nintendo that people have so much nostalgia for doesn't exist anymore.

I feel like prosecuting the people who were raping children might be the more important thing we should pursue, but who am I too say.

Hmm, is that the case?

Because I remember how even before anyone knew what any of the games were, they were rioting over the simple fact that PlayStation was going to create multiplayer online games.

No one has even tried this game yet or seen anything more than a short video; saying it's bad and uninteresting seems a bit premature to me.

I expect PS6 discussions will be full of complaints about how PlayStation doesn't make enough multiplayer games like people kept saying during the PS3 and PS4 days.

Ok, then don't get mad when other people point out other comparison information.

The point is, don't try to force console war style comparisons.

The fact of the matter is that PS5 holds 60 nearly always, while Switch 2 is under 60 nearly always. And it's clear that in combat and graphically intense scenes when it matters, PS5 is holding FPS while Switch is clearly struggling. Honestly, they probably should have just put a 30 FPS cap on it to make it a smoother experience.

It's also clear that there are missing reflections; the particle effects are extremely cut down,.LoD is much lower, shadow detail is red...

No one wants the Switch 2 to do badly.

PS5 being less than 2m behind PS4 is not a big deal; PS5 had to deal with COVID and ongoing supply and pricing struggles that clearly still exist today. Sales of software are incredibly strong, and the size of the community is bigger than its ever been.

PS5 is well on pace to exceed its early (2021) estimates of 110m by end of life even if that's 2027. PS5 will hit 100m before November and then sell another 6-8M...

First, no one actually said that PS6 is delayed.

The rumor started with Tom Henderson saying he thought PlayStation might consider delaying the PS6 due to RAM prices. He specifically did not say that he heard that they were going to delay it or anything like that, it was 100% speculation, and he never implied otherwise.

That said, let them delay it, the PS5 Pro especially with FSR 4 coming in the next month or so, will be more than sufficient. There isn...

"According to the comparison, the Switch 2 version appears capped at 1080p resolution and runs at 30 frames per second, while the PlayStation 5 version targets a smoother 60 frames per second at higher resolutions. Visual adjustments are also apparent, with reductions in global illumination, shadow density, reflections, hair rendering, texture clarity, and certain post-processing effects. These changes indicate the level of adaptation necessary to bring the title to Nintendo’s hybrid pla...

Why would I play on the docked mode of the Switch vs my PS5/Pro which is connected to the same display?

75d ago 5 agree4 disagreeView comment

I think, your example proves the flaw of Game Pass.

The fact that it didn't make the top 20 shows that there is little inherent value to putting games on a service day one. People who are buying Game Pass are not simply playing games because they are on the service day 1 they selectively choose what to play.

This game could have released at retail, then been put on Game Pass after six months. Then they could have gotten sales from the people who w...

June 5 to December 31 is essentially seven months.

From the chart in the actual presentation.

"Cumulative global sell-through as of the 4th week of December 2025 15 million units."

"Sales Status of Hardware and Software (Sell-In) 17.37 million units."

15m Sold = sell-through

17.37m Shipped = sell-in

Of course the real story is how what is considered to be the entry level for gaming has now become unaffordable for the majority of Americans and it's only getting worse.
