I believe it's more about being "exclusively for the ps5" rather than exclusives themselves. Remove the cross gen and far off stuff and all you have is one timed exclusive, one remake, and one sequel in October. Seems like a pretty polarizing take but as a consumer, it's understandable. I have a ps5 but 90% of my gaming is on ps4 and PC
You know it's bad when even Lucas calls out Sony and says Spider-Man 2 looks mid. Insomniac really hasn't handled the marketing of the sequel well enough. You can't expect revolutions with each entry but no harm in being more creative than last time, in areas that developers often ignore. Spider-Man 2 doesn't look mid per se but the character needs a fresh, new outing. Something that Shattered Dimensions had. Other spider-men need to be explored, their games made, stories told...
Just wait some more, dude. They can't do Master Collection Vol. 2 without MGS4 and with the recent news on how it was running on XBOX 360 back in the day, I'm sure it's easy enough to remaster the game for modern platforms and PC
competitors should compete on grounds that aren't based on "exclusives." I've always believed in this
it's not about profit, it's about how much the profit is
if companies started to revert to values that existed in the old days of gaming, the landscape today, with all of the modern tech, would be a far more powerful force than before. That would elevate gaming as a medium more so than any of this
Because underneath all the trash, there was a good game. XIV wasn't the same and had to be erased and rebuilt. All it took was for CDPR to take the trash out and look at it now. It's one thing that CDPR failed to deliver on some promises but that doesn't inherently detract from the game itself. The product we have now is well worth the money.
People just don't have the sense to look past the bad times. They do say that first impressions are important but th...
It's great to see Cyberpunk 2077 thrive but in all honesty, its launch was nowhere as cataclysmic as the OG Final Fantasy XIV. That alone proved the point. I suggest watching NoClip's documentary on it to understand the root cause and the actions taken to bounce back and make one of the, if not the, best MMORPG on the market today.
Tbh, Nioh is more of their own take. Team Ninja didn't try to replicate the from software magic. Lies of P is straight up trying to recapture the FS magic with its own original work. Team Ninja's direction was different compared to what P is doing
Well, to take it literally, duh. Kojima is out and Konami can't make a new metal gear solid no matter how high the stakes. It's the reason why Konami went down the remake route
Truth. It needs to be freed from its prison. MGS4 for great for its time but it hasn't been done justice. One of the greatest games in the franchise and making it accessible for the new and old players alike would be a merit
Also, exclusivity is trash for the most part. Nowadays, exclusives wind up on PC anyways.
It all comes down to how much and how fast something sells and the demand for it. Furthermore, taking time and generations into account is important as well. Staying stuck in the same gear isn't good and what ultimately talks is the money
I'm all for optimization and polish and whatever the hell else but a split release between JP and Global has always been a big L. Gacha games suffer from content disparity and release schedules due to this and I hope Blue Protocol doesn't end up in the same mess
The Witcher 3 had a problem. I played it on launch the same way I'm playing TOTK right now. It's not a problem and people will always try to make something into one. An actual affront to immersion would be watching the same cutscene play over and over again each time you enter a shrine for instance. That would have been a valid argument. Menus in this game are a non-issue
30 FPS for Redfall was known well before the scores came out and it caused an outrage. For zelda, 30 FPS was a universally accepted fact due to ancient hardware and contemporary Switch games. Your argument is invalid in this case
How's the character development bit related to speeding up a section of the game tho? But yea, no doubt Ashley's been vastly improved in the remake. Imo, after a few playthroughs, you just tend to speed through things. I'm on my 7th run rn so that's pretty much how I feel tbh
Your calculations are not off. As someone who plays FFXIV and Megami Tensei games a lot, I can confirm that it's easily possible to invest over 100 hours into a game if you play it with full focus. I personally don't let my responsibilities go ignored but it all comes down to managing your priorities and making time for stuff that you want to prioritize
