i pre-ordered my ps3 three times (dont laugh lol) and three were delivered but i live in the UK and it was released for us in march not november.
they said that the PS3 would sell out on release but it was just hype, there was enough for everyone.

what i was trying to say is that hardware is a tool or a blank canvas for the devs to use, give them bad tools to use and it will make it harder for them to make good games, the better the tool the easier their life will be.

you say its now all about the game and art direction but better hardware gives artists more freedom, more detail/ art in a game uses up more gpu memory

i had a 60gb PS3 and my old PS2 games but i never played my old games on my PS3, i wouldn't use a console for old games if i had the chance.
