Killzone 2 has nice graphics for a console game, but that's about it.
The multiplayer is lackluster compared to Left4Dead's , Call of Duty 4 and 5, Halo 3... in fact, the multiplayer is just crap compared to what LIVE offers you. But since you only own a PS3, you wouldn't know.

Modern Warfare 2 just needs to be as addictive as Modern Warfare 1 is to win that title. And since there's only 2 (Halo ODST is just an expansion) FPS coming out this year, they wont be that much of a competition.

Regardless of people wanting or not wanting new next-gen consoles anytime soon, it's a given fact, beyond a shadow of a doubt, AMD/ATI is working on graphics hardware for at least two consoles. Design decisions are being made now. They have to be. Consoles aren't made 6 months to a year before launch, they're made YEARS before launch. It's mid 2009 now. Obviously consoles that would be coming out in 2011 or 2012 would be deep into development this year.
Console transitioning is always driven by a tension between two factors: the stronger profitability of late-gen sales vs. the opportunity for better positioning.
On the upside, when you're late in a generation, you usually make more money: your console is cheap to manufacture, and you have a bigger install base and therefore make more money on software licensing.
On the downside, the bigger the install bases of existing consoles, the less room there is to maneuver --...

The Ps3's graphic card for instance is the equivalent of a GeForce 7600 and that's a 2005 tech.
