No, Bioware is trash now and the Mass Effect games have always been garbage. Only good game they made was Dragon Age: Origins but they decided that they needed to fuck up that franchise too.

Except more and more games have been coming to PC recently. Microsoft has even been bringing Xbox exclusive franchises to PC & more fighting games are appearing on PC as well as RPGs.
It's good if the games are PC/PS4 or PC/Xbox One but not really PC/PS4/Xbox One. At least if it's PC/PS4 or PC/Xbox One then cross-play can be added a lot easier to help the game no matter what platform it's on if it has multiplayer.
No need to play it safe. Just run & gun. You have regenerating health and teammates that will be around to revive you if you go down. This isn't Ghost Recon.
