I think EA is counting there chickens before they hatch, no doubt it will sell more if marketed correctly but lets not loose perspective here, even tho Insomniac is a great developer, marketing has never been there forte, and frankly neither is EA's unlike Resistance and Ratchet an new IP wont have anything to ride on to have an installed base of fans beyoond fanboys and being multi-plat wont fix that, its a risky move but i wanna see how it turns out

I defiantly agree that Crash Bandicoot was the best mascot for the PS brand, but sadly those day are long since dead, me personally i think Kratos is the best mascot for the bran , GoW represents everything that is PlayStation well recognized, great gameplay, great story telling, hardware pushing and innovate graphics. just greatness if not excellence in every facet of its execution

Sony stepped up there marketing game BIG TIME, compared to that BS with the baby an dthe cube... and those aboslutely horrfic EU commercials, i like the PlayStation universe commercials too, but these new ones are funny, point out the ps3's strengths and are shown constaly during progams where commercial air times is crazy expensive. and seemingly underestimating them was bar far Mintendo's biggest mistake and the unbelieveable whooping of the PS1 vs the N64 and the Ps2 vs Gamecube is a testiment to that fact. Also the Wii is a sales beast no doubt, making PS3 and 360 look bad, but TBH i find the Wii lacking, the online is crap, most of the games are shovelware and its not really making any strides other then to push the same tired crap that appeals to grandmas, housewifes and kids, sure we all love Mario Zelda Super...
