@Xenophon have you played "The Order 1886?" The game got shat on pretty hard for some repetitive gameplay elements, but it's probably one of the top games of all time concerning facial animations and cinematography. You can pick it up for a few bucks these days... def worth checking out, especially because of your degree.

As frustrating as that was at the time... it actually had me and all my friends repeating the raid weekly on multiple characters and that "hope" for the drop you need was actually really fun in hindsight (also when atheon finally dropped you the mythoclast was the best!) I remember when I FINALLY got the ghally after like 7 months... the 2 other dudes in my fireteam were screaming out of joy when it dropped for me... for a game to illicit that emotion is impactful. Good times. ...

no way man I disagree 100% everything is so generic now... the game is stale. If i still had a chance at certain god rolls on guns I'd still be playing.
Add to that there's no randomized rolls on guns... that made getting the same gun over and over still exciting because you're hoping for that perfect set of perks. The exotics are all trash, cooldowns take way too long, 4v4 multiplayer is not as fun. They basically stripped out all the "fun" from their formula to try and make it viable in competitive settings.

It's kind of lame that all the exotics in D2 require some weird variable to actually be useful and unique. This weapon is like the "Zhalo Super Cell" from D1 but in order for it to work you have to be taking arc damage... why bungie? WHY!?

I've played for a couple hours so far and everything about it is an improvement from Destiny 1. If you enjoyed D1... you'll LOVE it.

Bungie needs to chill with all this shit. Part of what made the game great was being able to play it how we wanted. This is all a bit to "controlling" for my taste. Kinda shitty of them to basically state through their actions that they know how to play their game better than we (the people that actually bought and enjoyed it) do.
I loved the killzone franchise (never played the first one tho). I think both it and Resistance were amazing... it's too bad there are no first party fps games on playstation anymore.
