No this news isn't. I mean was gears at 720 or 1080? Was gears at 30 fps or 60 fps?
Since gears was at 720p and 30fps that means that you don't need 1080p 60 fps to have an awesome game. Also Resistance was at the same and it was an awesome game as well.

I think that we will see madden 09 and a lot of games, if not this holiday season, next summer be better on the PS3 because of the cell blue ray and hard drive.

Its like GTA3 It was exclusive to the ps2 and later went to the xbox.
There seems to be a flow where devs are still used to the old format and later go to need more than the current format space. With the ps2 the teck stopped you from running games like gears, not the disk space.
Very interesting how one thing can hinder the devs while another lets them do more.
I do feel almost bad for epic and bungie that they have to limit themselves to 9 GB though, think of gears single player only five times longer!

Anywho, I really think that if gears, halo 3, and mass effect can squeez on 9 GB, then so can heavenly sword. I just don't think that they are using the right compression teckniques like the 360 devs are.
Although I could be wrong. Maybe PS3 exclusives really can't be on the 360.

I see that you think that the wii will suceed for a long time, but its just a fad and all of the people I know who bought it, played wii sports on it for a month or so and now its just collecting dust.
I will agree that if wii sports had online that it probably would not be a fad but since nintendo obviously doesn't care about online with only 2 games right now that have it, pokemon and madden 08, then it is just a fad. and will ware out early next year.

This is a step forward though, we can see that teh redmond syndrom is subsiding a bit, and though it is taking longer than previous generations thats mainly because of how advanced the cell is, its so advanced that it is hindering the devs, until they figure how to utilize is better, which we are seeing happen.
I understand that you are saying that COD4 will be exactly the same on both consoles and that he is just some sony fanboy, but I do see that the devs are starting to understand the ps3 a little better and get over the redmond syndrom

Look yesterday I went into a gamestop (yes they do have those in norway)
And I was thinking on buying an nba game an nhl game and a nascar game and I saw the $60 prices and was turned off, so I bought old ps2 versions of them all for under 15 bucks!
If you can get past the graphics because your saving yourself a boat load of money then do it to because there are still a whole lot of ps2 online playing those games.
