japanese hardware sales are still terrible. I expect PS4 to sink back down to the pack soon enough. It did launch high though.

Gamestop rankings I am pretty sure are determined by site hits. I do not think they rank based on purchases. But I guess after the news Sony layed off many people in Santa Monica and cancelled a game, any news is good news. So I approve :)

I find it somewhat funny that Vita had a better start. Overall PS4 is off to a modest start in Japan. Which is fine.

Sony is almost bankrupt themselves. They are scheduled to take another billion loss. They are in no position to buy anyone. Many analysts have suggested Sony spin off its game division or sell it because it is the only part of Sony that is profitable in an otherwise unprofitable company.
Sony is missing a few things in its game library. They have been doing a better job of it lately but they really need to treat Sony Japan as the Marquee studio it still is.
The game doesnt need anything other what the developers say it does. I love backseat developers lol.

Globally Wii U is crushing Vita. The only region Vita sells more is Japan.
Last Month in the US Wii U sold 100k more units than Vita.
