It's about time. Interesting that Nintendo is just making improvements with little in the way of announcements, other than in miiverse of course.

Awesome news, I think they saw that the DRM was going to dominate headlines so held back on bigger reveals

Agreed! Fun, unique, and exciting gameplay always trump visuals and generic "me too" clones.

I don't credit Wedbush or Pachter with an overabundance of ability in predicting pricepoints or determining production cost. $275 would mean a little over 1/3 of the price of the PS4 is GDDR5, which doesn't add up in the slightest.

Not so great combo, but game on.

@PandaMobile how many of those 150 games were bought at less than $5 or $10 (which is where the VAST majority of steam games are sold) and how many of those games were actually played. I buy games at full price if I know I want them, and I only have 30 Steam games. Does that make me less of a PC gamer? I don't think so, I only pay money for games I absolutely know I want to play, on that platform.

There are over 45 games currently available for WiiU. There haven't been any first party games releasing recently, but there have been third party releases and indie releases.

They're going to start releasing first party games in June, then they are aiming for one game at least per month until the end of the fiscal year. It is also getting major third party games like COD, any UBI game really, Batman, etc. Lots of indie games are coming to it this year and next, and I mean LOTS. Also, they are getting a few third party exclusives from the likes of Sega

The only developers not interested in developing for it have contracts with EA or are first party developers with Sony and Microsoft. There is nothing underpowered about it. It is head and shoulders above what last gen systems could do, both power and feature wise (talking about GPU features, it supports DX11.1 equivalents). Sony and Microsoft's systems are doing a lot more behind the scenes than Wii U. This takes cycles, as well as memory, to accomplish, there is always a performance...

Yes you can use voice chat with any game that decides to implement it. There is no cross game chat at this point, Nintendo chose not to force one VOIP standard for all of their games and the system, to let devs decide how they want it implemented.

Scenes like that flyover have been done on PC since 2007. AMD has been doing game snippets like this for years and years that are even more detailed. Killzone was not that impressive, overall. It looked slightly sharper than KZ3, not a huge leap, with a longer draw distance and some new reflection effects.

That's why people with any common sense only buy consoles because there are games they want to play on them that are only available there. Not because of what the company says about how much power is in it.

However, Console owners buy and play more games than PC owners, hands down. That is why publishers focus on them.

@Bobcatdigital
This isn't the same OS on each box, CPU speed can be a limiting factor only when it is the primary bottleneck, I assure you it is not in either instance.

IBM confirmed at the start that WiiU's CPU was based on Power7. It also has backward compaitbility with PPC750 (Broadway). Imagine the SIMD, EDRAM Cache, SMP, and more aggressive OOE from Power7 along with the newer PowerISA 2.06 with one core having code compatibility with PowerISA 1.03 (Bro...

There is a problem with this. First, its all conjecture, and the speed of the OS shows that clearly Microsoft knows a thing or two more than Nintendo with regards to developing them. It has nothing to do with CPU speed or amound of RAM.

Games will not look noticeably better on XBOX One due to the law of diminishing returns. They both have the same features with regard to rendering techniques and API support, and the WiiU Power7 based CPU, core for core, destroys Jaguar for...

Speed of loading can be worked out, Im referring to the features included, whether we need or want snapping while gaming, and why ms focused so heavily on something already offered by Nintendo
