how can you even _ask_ whether having more power matters? Of course it does. It won't matter on multiplatform games much, but for first-part and/or exclusives developed SOLELY for the system, of course more power matters. Things have progressed from multiplatform games automatically being inferior to on par on the PS3 and first party games have gone from ok/impressive to impressive/amazing. I don't see that trend stopping, so to even ask if having more power matters seems silly. Check th...
multiplayer gaming being the new standard for gaming in general.
Multiplayer gaming IS NOT the be-all-end-all of gaming. Multiplayer gaming is as valid of a choice to you as single-player gaming is to other people. Don't push your values on others.
Personally, I can barely stand multiplayer FPS gaming and prefer the story-driven single player campaigns.
Also, I buy games known for their multiplayer (Gears, Gears 2, Resistance, Resistance 2, Killz...
also disappointing. I'm just kidding... kind of.
Honestly though, taking MGS4 from a console and slapping it onto a touch interface cell phone game is a dramatic change for the franchise. I'm not terribly surprised people could/would be disappointed in it even if it were technically a well made game. It's taking something we're familiar with and repackaging it in an unfamiliar way. It's no longer a 3D tactical espionage action game, it's an "on rails" shooter.
I tracked it back to this page: http://tinyurl.com/c9r8yb
But I don't see any barcode or coupon code... I'm going to go back to BB tomorrow and see if I can't get to the bottom of this...
Best Buy had no clue what I was talking about. Without some sort of source for this info, I'm gonna call BS.
So I'm a "parasite" for pointing out that I find it absurd we keep seeing articles about what he thinks/likes/dislikes? Wrong.
Cliffy B says/thinks/likes/dislikes this things as part of his job? Wrong.
You can think what you want, hell, Cliffy B can think what he wants to... the point I was trying to make is that some of his comments are clearly attention getting whoring on his part, while the bulk of it is the fault of sensationalistic gaming press....
What you're doing isn't at all related to the DivX Video On Demand functionality though, that's simply playing back DivX/Xvid files on a DivX Certified device. The "Video On Demand" part is new to Firmware 2.50 and is for playing back DRM'd DivX files that you can presumably (eventually) buy/rent from somewhere.
You realize that DivX Video On Demand is part of a system where you buy/rent DivX content. Of course it has to be tied to an account of yours. Yeah, I think it's a bit weird that you can't do all of it directly from the PS3, but WTF with the "flop" usage... you seem to use that word like kids used "Smurf" back in the days...
I've got no problem with the possibility of a 2nd avenue for buying video content (allowing price competition) and such, it's just si...
fortunately this dumbass said it right at the beginning of his article to save me time.
If he believes that Home is an answer to Xbox Live, his opinions/thoughts don't matter to me because he's already "off".
If you've ever complained about a Sarcastic Gamer Fiction Friday article on the pages of N4G.com, please read this:
WE DO NOT SUBMIT THESE ARTICLES TO N4G... OTHER PEOPLE DO AND WE CANNOT STOP THEM ANY MORE THAN _YOU_ CAN.
We have every right to write whatever we want (made up or not) and they're CLEARLY LABELED ON OUR SITE as "fake news" and "Fiction Friday" so for all the people out there expressing animosity toward us, how about simply PM...
Don't be misled by our Fiction Friday stuff that people keep posting to N4G from our site (we don't post our Fiction Friday articles to N4G, but we can't stop other people from doing it). We're serious (but sarcastic) about gaming 6 days a week. ;)
to that compliment. We write great articles all the time, only asshats come along and post our "Fiction Friday" stuff to N4G (we don't do that ourselves, it's irresponsible since our context of Fiction Friday isn't adequately reflected on N4G) and we get a reputation like we're trying to spam our fake news all over the site. The fact that we like to write fiction stories on Fridays (in our own little world) is absolutely a valid choice and most of the criticisms of us on this site...
I should point out that SarcasticGamer.com DOES NOT POST THEIR FICTION CONTENT TO N4G.COM!
But we can't stop other folks (that we don't even know, frankly) from stumbling along and posting it...
So short of not doing the Fiction Friday stuff at all (and don't ask us to stop, we're not stopping), please take a second or two before bashing _US_ and realize... "Hey, maybe it's not Sarcastic Gamer's fault that <random asshat> is posting their CLEARLY LABEL...
it's much nicer to read them on the clock at work than to sit at home and be expected to give up game time to read the manual... ;)
A couple of those modes sound like a blast. I'm going to give a serious go at the single player before I allow myself to get drawn into the multiplayer aspect.
I saw a video online of a user-made game mode where 16 people play and load up on weapons, they then fly 8 to the top of the "Empire State Building" replica, and se...
and nothing more than an attempt at increasing pageviews. Sadly, I helped them.
Those reasons were ALL pretty weak fanboy fodder at best.
The real question is, when's the damned embargo over so we can find out the REAL scoop on the two versions' differences? Those of us with both systems want to know! Especially those that couldn't care less about gamerscore, achievements or multiplayer!
As the author of the article, you shouldn't address your anger at me _or_ Sarcastic Gamer... try the guy that submitted this to N4G instead because _WE DON'T SUBMIT OUR FICTION ARTICLES TO N4G_!
Clear enough? You can stop someone ELSE from doing it though...
Sorry for the caps, but I've seen several comments over the weeks with anger directed at us and we've done NOTHING wrong. Check with Superfragilistic, he seems to be the one (this week) that likes to submit...
Where's your source for this article? Eyeballing 30% sales on Amazon and having a credible source for $20 Blu-ray movies is two very different things. I'm not saying you're _wrong_, I'm just saying as someone reporting/presenting news you've given us nothing to back up your claims. You could've claimed free squid sushi with every Blu-ray movie sold and it would be as reliable of a report as it currently is... ;)
As the author of the article (a writer at SarcasticGamer.com), I just wanted to pop my head in here and point out that on Fridays we celebrate "Fiction Friday". Short of a megaton news story, all our stuff is made up on Fridays. We intentionally DON'T submit our articles to sites like Digg.com or N4G.com on Fridays to avoid this very type of incident. Unfortunately, this doesn't stop OTHERS from doing it. If you visit the site, the article is CLEARLY marked "Fiction Friday,...
it's a PSP game. It was playable at E3 but received little to no fanfare. Check out the PSP Sizzle video from the PS Store, there are brief glimpses of this game there.
