I havent played in a long time either. I have some great memories. Brawl cant do anything like this video. Just the speed...
Look, I understand people like party games. Melee was a party game...sort of. To people that never got the depth Melee presented it was still widely loved.
But the sequel could have had all the things that made Smash great to the big group that plays it competitively. It was instead gutted. A lot of people hate Brawl for that.
Too bad they took a great competitive fighter in Melee, and instead of further building on it, turned it into a party game for the Wii: every perfect combat system Smash had been building was cut by the game's asshole producer at the last second in favor of an unbalanced, laggy, noncompetitive, no comboing, no L-canceling, no hitstun, mess.
I hope they unruin things on the WiiU by going back to to their roots: GAMEPLAY

Nintendo made their decision to get back from their direct competition last gen and got rewarded...initially.
The last two years it had completely lost momentum and now the WiiU is essentially "last gen" as the Wii was to the gen before.
They certainly would be holding graphics back if not for MS/Sony.
Very different signs with the WiiU than the Wii. Its apples to oranges right now. Two very different systems.
Public companies can not afford to bet on losers. They have a board of directors who will know when to call it quits (if they ever need to) much like Sega did.
Regarding Nintendo's cash position, we will know in April after their annual financials come out how much cash they have.
They care about the console crowd and pretend PC does not exist. And they are right. Most people are on consoles and WILL notice a jump.
