That would fit well in the story i believe. Since you make these moral choices all the time and eventually become good or bad. I could see the beast as the bad cole and kessler as the good cole.
A few of the guys who were in the Diablo team left blizzard and started the Hellgate project.
So the Diablo team is still there and working on something, say its Diablo 3 ;)
The Total War games could have some use of that system.
