According to Sony it's NOT possible to hack the PS3...That's a bold claim and a welcome invite to those who think they can.
The CELL structure is what keeps the system secure. They have a dedicated processor as the final (4th) step in the security process, which cannot be accessed or commmunicated with.
Even it ever becomes possible, it will never outwheigh the benefits of having the latest firmware and fully functional PS3. It has so much to offer, why comprom...
NO PS3's are hackable, regardless of what firmware you have or when it was purchased. It's the structure of the CELL processor that dicates the security level on the system.
It's not going to be easy, but my prediction for the last 8 months has been Sony will prevail, slightly edging 360 in sales upon release of the next consoles.
They'll meet around 40 million mark by 2011...

It could be either
A) your t.v. input (unlikely)
B) your cables (most likely)
C) the connection on your 360 (less likely)

Microsoft excels (pun intended) at creating software and when they get it right, it can't be touched. This is not limited to current consoles. I'm done with 360. It's been a poor design from the get-go. From the fit and finish to the overall design, it's just so cheap! Do they recruit engineers from GM and Chrysler?
Everyone, do yourself a favour with that $100 repair, contribute it to a fully functional, very well thought-out PS3. I did and I'll never look back. The system is made with top notch engineering and quality, the differences are huge...Reliability is not something you should gamble with...MS will never ...
