Well, that what Planescape: Torment was all about. Narrative, profound and unique story with an obscure game world. That's what they said all along. In my opinion, both Divinity and Wasteland lack a really interesting story. They both seem like only entertainment, whereas Torment speaks to me both as an interesting game and a brilliant story.
I would compare it with Age of Decadence or Wasteland 2 but it still wind the round.
This was the case with the original Torment. In my opinion, combat is much better in sequel than it was in Planescape. Maybe, I even rate it higher than combat in PoE, because it seems more tactics oriented.
What similar game would you prefer? I honestly don't think that combat is duller than in other tactical turn-based RPGs. It is a matter of choice for me.
