As the writer of this piece I feel I need to clarify something that I don't think came across too well in the article.

I'm not simply lambasting cutscenes as a phenomenon, but very specifically the cutscenes that contradict the story we see in the interactive portions of the game. What I mean is that there is sometimes a glaring lack of consistency between what happens in a cinematic and what happens in the game and it is this that I wanted to rage on a bit. I don'...

There's no denying that there ARE women that work in games, but they are hardly the most well known of influential players if you compare to how many men there are. How many Peter Molyneux's and Hideo Kojima's and Satoru Iwata's do you get for every Roberta Williams? You can't just point to a list of 100 women working in the industry and go "there, that oughta do it".

Absolutely brilliant article. To the point, objective, interesting and confronting some of the issues that doesn't usually get much attention. Both my younger sisters and my girlfriend are all avid gamers and they rarely - if ever - play games specifically designed for a female audience and it seems like most people, gamers and "the industry" alike, don't even believe that they exist.
