Any gamer who buys a Wii, will buy a 360 or PS3.
Any non-gamer who buys a Wii, most likely will not buy a 360 or PS3 for themselves.
So the 360 and PS3 are not threatened by the Wii in the GAMER market.
The 360 and PS3 are not even worried about non-gamers to begin with.
So that's why the Wii is not a competitor.

But if they just upgrade the engine a bit, it would only take 1-3 years, depending on how much of the engine they want to improve or change.
And I'll say it again.
We had no problems with switching disks in 1997 because CDs held more data than cartridges. How many cartridges would it take to hold FF7? A LOT.
Now Bluray holds more data than DVD. DVD is the new cartridge and Bluray is the new CD.
I wouldn't mind a game taking up more than 3 Bluray discs, that would be a LOT of content. But imagine if that game utilized DVDs instead...

Developers can host events where they announce new information.
Developers can host Q&A events.
Developers can promote their upcoming games.
Nike can promote their upcoming shoes.
Etc, etc, etc.

Just keep the map and everything. But all players are connected to the GT servers and instead of racing computers at events, you'll be racing other players.
Basically just let us all simulate being real racers with a real racing career... online.
While many people and companies are too shortsighted to see or care about potential, Sony is one of the few companies that focus on potential.
Potential = future.
And Sony knows that future will at some point be NOW.
Other companies can't afford to bank on potential because they don't have the strategy to turn potential into kinetic. (potential energy/kinetic energy)
Sony knows EXACTLY how to turn potential into kinetic. Killzone 2 is proof of this...
Imagine walking around E3/TGS/Leipzig in Home checking out all the new announcements and playing all the demos.
Sony could also announce new Firmware updates, or just announce anything interesting via Home.
Maybe we can meet up with developers virtually inside home to get some information.
Etc etc.
By the way, I think they should add a Kart Racing minigame inside Home! 16 players can race against each other, and maybe there are even multiple...
The graphics looks better than Oblivion.
The only problem I have is with the art direction. The world's too dark and dirty. Hopefully they have more colorful and beautiful places like Oblivion, to show off the variety.
If you DO get a PS3, don't be a fanboy.
Just play the games and enjoy them for what they are. Don't be playing them trying to nitpick at every little thing.
Seriously, why would you WANT to have a bad time with your PS3?
If I bought a 360, I would hope I have the best possible time with it. I wouldn't be crossing my fingers hoping to get an RROD.
I tried the NXE this weekend and I got generally the same idea.
Right now Home is nice, but it still feels separate from the XMB. Some people will not be tempted to use Home.
If they integrated Home with the XMB, then it will feel seamless and you will automatically feel connected to the Playstation community. You will want to explore Home more because of the connection.
Considering how we can already access the XMB while in Home, it shouldn't be that ha...

Rings may not buy themselves... but rings DO occur by themselves... unexpectedly almost. They usually occur in groups of three too. I also recall hints of red.
Although women with glasses turn me on... those didn't really look like glasses or wide open eyes. They looked more like other things on women that turn me on.
