They took so long because they spent most of that time building their engine.
The games themselves only takes maybe 2 years.
Not only that, a lot of the teams have to help out on other projects most of the time.
Square Enix needs to realize that quality > quantity and spend their resources well.

I would understand if features like Cross Game Chat required Gold, but something like online play should be free.
Gold is supposed to be the extra that you choose to pay for, not the standard that you MUST pay for.

PS3 launched 1 year later, at twice the price. Right now currently sitting at $299.
Even without a price cut this year, PS3 will still catch up to, and most likely surpass, the 360 by the end of the year.
But its very likely for Sony to cut the PS3's price down to $199 this E3. Especially with Sony's NGP releasing later this year.
They should have also been able to reduce the PS3's production costs enough for a price cut by now. T...
They should make Monster Hunter 4 for NGP and PS3.
There should be a bundle that includes both versions. Or maybe do what Valve is doing and include both versions. (Not likely since this is Capcom we're talking about)
MH4 should be cross-platform compatible.
