Probably because it was the first great wrestling game (A lot more options then Wrestlemania 2000) that most people played.
It also has to do with how great it was at that time. When I first found out I could bring the fight backstage, I was in awe. Had to show all my friends, even the ones that didn't watch wrestling.
It was missing a jump button and the comic panel cutscenes. I don't remember how smart the AI was in the previous games, but they rarely ever miss a shot. Great story telling and realism, but has plenty of flaws.
Very few companies do this. Rockstar has been doing this for years starting back before Bully. I remember waiting for what felt like a year to get anything other than a title.
Final Fantasy Versus is doing this too and every time there is an article saying "more news soon," it becomes the most comment and hottest news of the day. Sure they have something to show us, but why should they when they get so much press for not showing anything.
I gave you a bubble. I found X-2 to be alright, but nothing I would really care to talk about. With XIII I didn't really give it much of a chance, it started out so bland with annoying characters, bland environments (All I seen was crystals and floating bridges), and repetitive battle system that I quit within 6 hours.
I'll probably go back eventually since I have always have had troubles getting into FF games. Once I do get into one, I play non-stop.
That means each match will average around 11 minutes not taking into account cutscenes or entrances. That's pretty decent.
They should give us a random timer and when the timer runs out just release the game.
I ******* called it!

Whoever gave me that disagree can kiss my ass :)
Wow, I always wondered why they never added a story mode that went through a wrestler's whole career. I'm glad they are doing it now. This will be the first wrestling game since the first SvR and before that No Mercy and Smackdown 2.
Next one business, maybe?
The story telling was great. I thought it was up in the ranks of crime movies like Goodfellas.
My favorite is the Battletanks commercial. They make you think that a fresh batch of laundry is going to get done, then BAM, out comes a tank after Snuggles.
I don't know whats worse... A game that gets delayed or a game that doesn't get a release date.
That chin cutting is brutal... He does it so slowly.
I played that on PS2.
That is badass.
BIOSHOCK SPOILERS
Fun article to read. I actually wrote a paper for school on Bioshock, comparing the game to Bartleby. In essence it isn't actually mind control, but for some it can be as powerful. It is hard to say no to someone asking kindly just like it is hard to make someone do something when they prefer not to. A good way to manipulate another's mind.
It wouldn't make sense to change the killer on choices. The thing I didn't understand was my ending...
SPOILERS
I drank the poison to find my son, I didn't end up finding him. At the end of the game I seen Ethan and his son reunite. Now I'm assuming that it wasn't poison, but that was very confusing.
Yeah Spongebob was good... They were the PS2's Mario. I still remember playing Spongebob The Movie, I got every Goofy-Goober token in the game except that damn level where you had to ride in a bathtub.
A-Rod *Does fist Pump*
Well... They just lost my money.
