you're clearly missing the point of the article, dchalfont, Pachter won't ever "go away," because it's HIS JOB to make predictions. We just shouldn't concern ourselves with him, because he's making predictions for the benefit of investors.
I thought that Google thing was pretty ridiculous, myself
Shat is probably the only past tense word in the English language that is significantly funnier than its present tense form.
Sounds like a sweet deal. No PS3, unfortunately.
that's pretty early for a demo
I keep hearing about the crappy Warhawk trophies. Apparently, they really blow.
The last achievement in Battlefield 1943 is like that one from Resistance 2 that you were talking about. What a waste of time for anyone who got it...
Yeah there's a driver "ranking up" system in the game, and every time you hit a rank milestone (usually every 5 ranks once you get to rank 15) you get a nice little achievement. It's just sort of a feel-good incentive to keep on playing.
Forza Motorsport 3 does a pretty good job with achievements. Instead of asking you to do something ridiculous and stupid, it just constantly rewards you as you progress through the "Season Play" mode. It also awards players for exploring all the aspects of the online modes and community features, like car auctions, decal design, purchasing and selling user-created content, etc.
I know exactly what you mean. Like I said in the article, I nearly ruined Tales of Vesperia by going for all 1000. I mean, if I didn't have any other games, it might have been okay to do it, but I have other stuff to get around to playing, ya know? There are such a huge number of truly good games this generation that I might never get around to playing. I gotta experience as many of them as I can :)
Never played these games but I hear they're classics.
Maybe this is a sign that the StarCraft II beta is about to start?
That plus GH: Van Halen. How many people love Van Halen enough to drop $60 on a game about them?
Yeah I thought the number of GH games published was closer to 8 until I did my research. Crazy stuff.
That's a good point, and from all reports the game plays differently than Guitar Hero. Still, $120 for the normal game and $200 for the special edition is insane, especially if they expect fans to buy Guitar Hero 5 as well.
I NEED a PS3 for this...
It's like you're commenting on a story that nobody wrote.
Brutal Legend will probably be one of those games that everybody picks up a year and a half after it came out at half price during a boring summer...
With that many misspelling and the inclusion of F**king HOME as one of the best new IPs, it's astonishing that anyone agreed with you. It just goes to show that as long as you badmouth the 360 and worship the PS3, you'll still be loved by most people on this site, regardless of whether or not anything you have to say is legitimate.
I don't like this one bit. It's over-monetization of a game that people already pay a monthly fee for... not cool at all.
