Here are my predictions:
1. Xbox slimmer with 1TB, 16 CPU, 12GB DDR3, and small GPU augmentation. Games run on same VM and will be same across all Xbox one versions, but the VM OS windows 10 side will be greatly enhanced and more responsive. Development kits are standard enhancements. Further more commoditization will be announced in various PC's and electronic devices able to support the Xbox one virtualization.
2. Dune exclusive license. Developed by th...
16 things that should have been part of the original game content. I too am not impressed. I would be impressed if the 2 paid announced pieces are free. Everything else is marketing, catering to the small minded sheeple out there who are easily fooled.
1. OS bug fixes. Still have to power off and back on occasionally.
2. Backwards compatibility via Azure with xbox 360 disk inserted, or digital content acceptance.
3. Better user recognition. My wife registers as herself and 2 other of my children. Very annoying.
4. Default to adult permissions if adult is logged in. Example, I will be watching Netflix, my child comes in and all the sudden permissions are wonkers and I have to log off the child, shutdown Netflix or Hul...
Yes! MS bought Dune game license and is going to work on trilogy using Nemesis system!
Respawn, given their experience in Titanfall and FPS's would be a perfect fit for a mechassualt/Mechwarrior game. Microsoft would be smart to tap Respawn to make a hybrid as such with some Pilot RPG elements and campaingn to upgrade mechs.
A guy can wish.....
2 X 40 Core Knights Corner 22NM can be done for about 23.00 per processor. So $46.00 initially and then reduce the cost by economy of scale. They are also looking at a new stacking technique that actually allows a kind of 3D stacking of processors. This will allow greater compactness, but will have greater initial cost. Time will tell.
Let's just say MS has been doing lots, I mean lots of testing with the Larrabee tech (Intel Knight Corner). I believe MS has a fully working XBOX 360 emulator running on this platform , So you put the pieces together..... Along with the rumors Intel sold the rights for MS to fabricate and own the tech. I have heard the emulator runs on 10 cores quite nicely. Throw in one or two processor @ 50 cores ea plus a specialized Ray Tracing co-processor (Caustic inc), ANA 3.5, 4-8GB DDR5 and MS...
Not sure about PS4 or Wii HD, but at least with the next xbox there is supposedly going to be a special purpose chip embedded with a new ATI GPU along with more EDRAM. A CousticOne chip will also be embedded with the GPU. There is also testing with embedding all the chips onto one die along with a moderately improved IBM CPU's. Although the machine is intended to increase Graphics, AI, Physics by a factor of 20, this is the last generation of hardware console as we know them because there is ...
I would prefer responsive interface over features any day. I absolutely dislike the current UI speed. If MS came out and said the next update was nothing but optimizations to the UI speed, I would be happy.
I would buy the next gen hardware. The PS3 and the XBOX360 are way under powered for tomorrows(literally) video gaming. There is more to games than graphics. I want more physics, and things happening on the screen coupled with better graphics. I think the time is ripe and I would support a new console every 3-4 years.
If the new console does not release soon, then the only option is to return to PC gaming...at least until the newest consoles releases. the more and more I hea...
RROD 2 times and I don't care. I love playing games. If my 360 died today, I would go buy a replacement. As soon as the PS3 gets down to a reasonable price, I will buy one of those consoles. If not for the games like uncharted and MGS4, at least for installing Ubuntu and tinkering. Waiting for someone to release a Linux distro that really utilizes the GPU's memory(256MB) to compensate for the 256MB system memory running under Linux. $199.00 is a good price point. I have to say the bigges...
MS will not consider launching until there is an uptick in the economy. Until then, they will continue to ride on the success of the xbox 360 which is beating the PS3. There may be an announcement next year at the earliest, assuming the economy is better.
The Sony controller is terrible. I would be a PS3 owner if they had a better controller.
The PS3 controller really sucks and no matter the games, developers, publishers, or PS3 technology will convince me to buy a PS3. I really hate the controller. Now give me a 360 controller with a PS3, and I am sold. Yeah yeah, the D-pad on the 360 controller sucks.
But if the developers and studios are only half as good, what does it matter? Which mean Sony may be loosing twice as much money as M$ and Nintendog combined on development.
Physics, AI, Sound, and particle effects....that is where it can go. Good visuals alone doesn't a good game make. New consoles will address these areas with a modest increase in visual fidelity.
I believe Sony entertainment post a net profit. In my opinion, this means it is not failing, performing as well as Sony hoped...no, but definitively not failing.
MS entertainment division is in the black. Probably performing better than expected.
Nintendo profits in the stratosphere. Performing way better than expected.
There won't be a Cell/Larrabee combo. It will be one of the two doing both CPU functions and GPU functions. Remember the Cell was initially intended to task both CPU/GPU functions and at the last minute the GPU was super glued on as an afterthought to make up for deficiencies in the cell graphics capability thus the bottleneck in memory. So, Sony will use a super duper Cell, or will scratch it and go with the Larrabee.
Personally, I think both MS and Sony ought to use same with...
I am not playing FF7 again unless it loses turn based game play, and that is not going too happen. I am done playing turn based FF style games. They simply aren't fun anymore. Uncharted might be fun, but I have to say Tomb Raider has won me over. I don't get hyped on new IP until proven, so not really excited about the Sony stuff coming out. Lastly, the Shinmue 3 public funding sets a terrible precedence. I want the game badly, but now I hope it fails, otherwise more published will st...
