Fair enough, good point. The word "slutty" shouldn't have been used, good point.
It's not that the old Lara Croft is sexist, I like that model as well- I just think that with more female gamers wanting to play a more "rugged" looking option, the new Lara Croft looks more like the type of sexy that can appeal to men and the a woman will feel comfortable playing as, too.
Again, it's just my opinion. I fully respect yours. :)
I agree that it could look that way. I should of put a question mark. The article was really discussing whether or not IF it does "go like the Wii", is that really a bad thing?
I talked about how successful the Wii was early on, etc, etc.
Point taken though, title choice could have been a lot better. And honestly, I should have included more of the article in the caption, the way it looks- it sounds a little negative at first.
I understand that many sources say that the Wii U is going to be the same or weaker, and that's frustrating.
This article doesn't say that though, or at least it certainly wasn't meant that way. Here is what it says:
"The Wii U is just around the corner, and although we don't have exact hardware specifications yet, we do know that it is at least a LITTLE better than the Xbox 360 and PS3, if rumors prove true. "
It sa...
Point taken. I doubt it will be as powerful as the Xbox 720 and PS4 will be (considering they are coming two years later), but there is certainly a jump from the Xbox 360 and PS3 from the sounds of it.
You make an excellent point, mr_mike. I wasn't trying to say that the Wii U is underpowered or awful... I think the graphics look pretty darn nice. Will the graphics compete with the PS4 and 720? I have my doubts, but we really can't say 100% for sure until E3, or even ...
Though I'm very likely in a minority here... I thought the DC controller was actually rather comfortable. Yes, it was ugly, but I never had any problems using it and my hands aren't HUGE, they aren't small either, just normal sized. :)
I also really liked the original Xbox controller, which essentially was a DC controller with an Xbox label slapped on over where the screen would have been.
Keep in mind that the main rumor around the "Steam Box" was that it was a PC standard that is made by other hardware vendors. If that's the case, it only makes sense that they would consider adding the "Steam Label" to laptops, set-top console-like PCs, and even tablets. Would I buy one? No way, they'd cost too much and traditional consoles suite me just fine. The point here was merely that a niche for them could exist, and if they are moving into hardware through ...
True I suppose, but for folks that just want access to classic gaming and few little extra online-only games, the might not want to drop $170. Still, I get you point. This article was mainly just for fun. Nothing too serious. :)
That's a good point about the HDMI. I mean my tablet doesn't look too bad this way, but again it has a higher resolution screen than the Vita, I believe.
I don't think the 3DS is bad, just not anything that exciting to me. 3D is kinda cool but compared to how the DS innovated the GBA? It doesn't seem like enough of a major change.
The Vita is an impressive piece of hardware no doubt, but I've never been that big into handhelds, well at least not since I was much younger, back when I had a Game Gear, Gameboy, and Atari Lynx.
Still I actually WOULD have shelled out the money for the PS Vita if it had just one more feature I feel it is missing: HDMI out. If I could use this system as a touch-screen controller on my big-screen HDTV I would certainly fork over the money. As it is? I just don't have ...
While I agree it wouldn't look too good, it wouldn't be the first time a 4 year life was carried out. The original Xbox launched in 2001 and the 360 arrived just four years later in 2005. Despite a short life-cycle, there are at least some gamers that remember the original fondly (like myself).
Short doesn't necessarily mean it will anger the fans, if the launch is handled right. That being said, this was just speculation, considering Nintendo's by-the-book h...
While something like this IS possible, I think it would be more of a supplemental control if it did happen.
As far as this article though, just read the source "XBOX World April Cover".... April, as in April fools? Is it very possible this is just a very early joke?
I guess all we can do is wait and see.
Yah, Mr_Mike, I agree, they do have some great products. In fact I've been a huge Nintendo fan since 1990.
They have some solid games and I admit I still played and enjoyed the new DK Returns and Kirby game, even if they are considered 'kiddy' by some gamers.
I never did care for the Wii name though. :)
Personally, I know that regardless of what Nintendo does I'm probably going to get the Wii U because I'm semi-hooked on ...
While I agree that Nintendo can cash out big time by just relying on its current audience, they (like pretty much every company out there) like the shiny dollars. The more shiny dollars the better. Which is why they are attempting to line up games like Darksiders 2 and other more 'core' games for the Wii U.
The reality will likely be that it is virtually impossible to control the casual crowd and completely please the 'core' crowd too.
Also if...
I agree Zelda is hardcore, just 'overdone'. It was great for a long time, I'm ready for something new, T or M, from Nintendo and a new IP.
I guess I haven't listened in for the moaning and such that you are talking about- probably in one of the trailers? Good point.
The sexuality in gaming isn't going away ever, and nor should it. I just like to see that women can look attractive as heck and yet still have a slightly less revealing look- something I think they did pretty well with the Lara Croft remodel.
I have nothing against the older Lara Croft model though! :)
