Exactly, people know the PS brand and what comes with it. A laundry list if varied and unique games. People buy them for what Sony does overall not just for a particular game.
You will never see a huge console sale spike on PS console like you will on mintend when a new Mario kart or smash cones out.

True and true MS has proven that they don't have to relief on timed deals to stay afloat, unlike last gen.
I don't mind third party exclusive games all that much but I hate timed exclusive deals and timed dlc deals, it doesn't make your platform more appealing, its just a minor irritant for the others.
I feel like a difficulty setting would ruin the game. What makes the Souls games so great is that they are uncompromising. It all comes down to the patience and will power of the player, either you got it or you don't.
Taking that whole concept away or making it optionary would kinda spit in the face of what these games are about.

No doubt fro, but the word "mainstream" scares me. A lot of devs will dumb down the philosophies that made them special in order to appeal to a wider audience ie: socom, final fantasy, mass effect, dead space. This typically dillutes what was great about them in the first place.
Without a doubt its a contender, this game has made a masochist out of me, I even chose to play as the waste of skin class and beat the first 2 enemies bare handed~waste of skin master race~

Well tlou remaster has a 95, so technically its the highest rated console exclusive........it'll probably be a while before its dethroned.
