It had nothing to do with lazy devs, but Nintendo's decision to use cartridges instead of CD. N64 games may had a little bit more polygons and some better effects here and there, but they all had lower res textures, because they were running out of memory with cartridges.
That's not true, N64 had very blurry graphics compared to PS1. I remember several multi games like NBA Live having better graphics and receiving better review scores on PS1.

2cents you are such a fanboy, that you are too blind to notice Sony is giving people choice. MS on the other side makes everybody pay for Kinect and TV fuctions, although not everyone wants to use it. You also must be living under a rock or are a very young fella, because TV on console is nothing new for Sony. Never heard of PlayTV on PS3? Sony was into TV long before MS, but the difference is their approach. They ain't forcing anything, but as I said giving people CHOICE!
