New elder scrolls game.
I knew it would come eventually but that image they release was great.
Bethesda. Especially after the catastrophe of fallout 76.
female Commander Shep.
It felt more mine than any other game because my character spanned 3 games and look (almost) the same in each game. I watched other let's plays but everyone had their own Shep. Mine was mine.
more epic game series.
Like mass effect did with their first 3, I thought more games would come out that tied one character across years... hasn't really happened.
World building and design.
Not just story telling has advanced but the worlds the stories are told in. Player climb up, sideways, fast or slow, and there isn't always an obvious way to show how a story unfolds.
Metal Gear Solid V.
NOT because I think it is a bad game but because for some unknown reason I can't enjoy it. It had great reviews, I watched let's plays, but when I tried playing it myself I didn't have fun at all and stopped after a few missions and roaming around. I really wished I'd enjoyed...
The first Bioshock.
When I first tried playing it as a kid, I quit. It was too scary for my child brain. When I picked it up again years later, the story and setting was what made me forget how scared I originally was. Also, the ending of the game is my favorite of anything I've played since. Would you kindly agree with me?
mortal combat on ps3. My cousin and I used to sneak into my brother's room when he was out to play it. Weirdly enough, I haven't played a fighting game since then.
Red Dead Redemption 2.
It was the little details that keep me coming back to it. I love the fact that I can go at a slow pace and not worry about finishing the story if I don't want to. I do find myself procrastinating on finishing the story which tells me it's not as engaging as some but the world keeps me occupied enough that I don't care about that.
